Thanks to Maura for setting this up for all of us. It’s a great way to “test the blog waters” (and, of course, to join the party).
Thanks Maura

Social Media Release – An incidental thumbs up
October 16th, 2007 by prpower in Uncategorized · No Comments
Here’s an email I received just this evening from youngprpros@yahoogroups.com a PR group that must think young is how you feel!! The value of the SMPR is certainly worth a discussion among those familiar with the traditional press release. Note the interesting use of a blog in conjunction with the release.
Most observers, from what I’ve been reading, have been giving a thumbs
up to a SMPR put out the the Social Media Group
(http://socialmediag roup.ca), a Toronto based firm on behalf of the new Ford Focus.
Hi All
I like it myself, although I can see that I’d probably make few
changes. To get some things clarified, I responded to a conversation
going on over at the company’s blog
(http://socialmediag roup.ca/2007/ 10/11/another- take-on-the- social-
media-press- release/# comment-53573)
I was wondering how others feel about it. You can see it here:

Post your opinions in comments and send your opinion to jonathan_trenn@yahoo.com too, who sent the email.

Hi to all you future interactive PR powerhouses,
At the Power of PR UCSC class this evening, I opted to avoid preparing a slightly off the mark presentation in favor of preparing a menu of blog knowledge for you. These presentations and links will fill in some gaps. If you need more, send me a comment. I’ll check my A-list bookmarks.  This is meant to be a party so, post a blog, make a comment, join in.
